Career Guidance Guarantee event at House of Lords
As part of the ongoing championing of the Career Guidance Guarantee for every citizen in England, the Career Development Policy Group (CDPG) – of which the CDI is a founding member – held a roundtable event at the House of Lords on 18th July in conjunction with the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Skills, Careers and Employment.
Hosted by Baroness Garden of Frognal and attended by Lord Aberdare, senior representatives from the DfE and key stakeholders, the discussion centred on a new report, Investing in Careers, produced by the International Centre for Guidance Studies for the event.
The Investing in Careers report outlines the current careers system in England, captures key elements of the cost of the current provision and estimates the cost of delivering the Career Guidance Guarantee. Finally, the report outlines the return on investment from investing in career guidance, in addition to the non-economic benefits to individuals and society.
