A history of quality awards

The CDI developed a framework and guidance for careers services and individuals to quality assure their career development interventions. This enables career development professions, supporting young people and adults, to ensure they provide high quality support.
The Quality in Careers Standard is the primary quality mechanism for schools and colleges. It is accessible in England, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands and is fully aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks for 'Good Career Guidance'.
It is managed by the Quality in Careers Consortium, of which the CDI is a member.
The matric Standard is also funded by the DfE and is a broader quality system for any organisations that offer information, advice and guidance – from Citizens Advice to career development.
