CDI 2025 Strategy
The CDI 2025 strategy launched in 2021 and clarifies our purpose, establishes a clear direction and enables us to prioritise future investments.
The key statements include our Purpose, Vision and Mission, as well as our underpinning Values as a professional body.
The strategy itself includes the strategic statement, the four pillars to achieve that and the strategic enablers which provide the foundation of the approach.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy
The CDI's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy was launched in 2023 following an extensive consultation period involving members of a range of diverse communities from across career development.
The EDI Strategy focuses on three goals, to;
- Make sure people from diverse communities feel Welcome in the profession, so that the workforce is inclusive.
- Encourage people from all communities to join the profession, so that it is a rich and diverse profession that represents the clients it serves.
- Enable those working in career development and their clients to achieve their potential by removing barriers and drive equity.

Chartership
Chartership is a strategic project that the CDI is leading on behalf of the profession. It is an ongoing piece of work to explore the option to apply for the career development profession to gain a Royal Charter.
We have completed two stages of research into the meaning of, and appetite for, chartership for the profession and are now working to identify the gaps that need to be addressed before we can make a petition.

Environment and Sustainability Strategy
The CDI is working on its Environment and Sustainability Strategy, to outline how the organisation will play its part in addressing climate change end environmental issues.
The strategy will reflect the 'Working for a Fair Future' pillar of the CDI's 2025 Strategy and will include priorities and activities beyond the work that has been done to date to improve the energy efficiency in the CDI office, reduce our plastic use and reduce travel.
