Develop careers resources for the CDI's Technical Education programme

As part of the CDI’s Technical Education Programme, we are developing resources and training to support careers professionals in keeping up to date with technical education pathways, namely apprenticeships, T Levels and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs). The Technical Education Programme is funded and supported by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.

We are inviting proposals from suitably experienced individuals or organisations to support in the creation of new resources on each of these pathways. The resources will complement the CDI’s Technical Education Resource Hub, an online central source of information specifically aimed at career development professionals. We want to bring the information on the Hub to life through examples of real-life practice and experience of technical education pathways.

The resources to be created could include the following:
  • Videos featuring students who are undertaking a technical pathway or schools/colleges offering technical qualifications;
  • Case studies of students who have undertaken technical education pathways, showcasing positive destinations;
  • Videos or case studies featuring Careers Advisers talking about their experience of technical education pathways;
  • Presentations or lessons plans for use by career development professionals (or careers tutors) to bring technical education pathways to life.
It is expected that contracts totalling up to £90 000 (inclusive of VAT) will be awarded to one or more individuals/organisations, depending on areas of interest and expertise. All resources are to be agreed with the CDI’s Technical Education Programme Manager and will be branded and owned by the CDI.

Interested parties should contact Kim Newman, the CDI’s Technical Education Programme Manager, with an expression of interest by Friday 29th August, The expression of interest should include the following:
  • An outline of specific areas of interest from the suggestions above (or your own ideas for new resources);
  • An overview of your experience in creating careers resources, specifically those related to technical education;
  • A brief summary of your knowledge of technical education pathways and your interest in this area;
  • A brief summary of your process for creating content, e.g. is it done in-house or outsourced;
  • Details of your estimated costs or day-rate.
If you wish to informally discuss your proposal in advance of submission, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Kim Newman
