Work-based learning: A briefing for schools
Members of the CDI's Community of Interest for Careers Education (COICE) have written this comprehensive briefing paper about work-based learning to support the development and delivery of programmes in schools.
The briefing defines work-based learning, explains the benefits of the activities and how to gain buy-in to the development of the programme within your school, explores how to improve the quality of activities and signposts additional resources. It has been designed to offer information and advice for those working in schools across the UK.
Written by COICE Chair John Ambrose and COICE members Anthony Barnes and Claire Nix, the briefing is essential reading for anyone wishing to develop or enhance the work-based learning they provide to young people. It is part of the COICE goal of sharing best practice to continue to raise standards and the impact of careers education work.
