Nominations open for elected CDI Board members
Nominations are now open for elected Board Director roles with the CDI.
The CDI are seeking to appoint several roles on the Board including President Elect, Honorary Secretary Elect, Treasurer and a member elected Board Member.
These roles which are nominated and elected by the membership, are for individuals who bring insights of the career development sector and wish to support their professional body to face the challenges of the future. These posts also provide a significant opportunity for an individual to gain valuable personal development experience.
The closing date for nominations for all positions is Thursday 27 March, 4 pm.

President Elect
As our CDI President, Pete Robertson, is in his final year in office, we are seeking nominations from the CDI membership for our next President Elect. This post-holder will take up the position of President Elect until December 2025 before then becoming the CDI President for two years.
The President Elect holds an important role supporting the President in the leadership of the profession and the Career Development Institute. The President Elect communicates the positioning and policies of the Institute to members and external audiences, while inspiring confidence within the sector, and working with the Board to plan the future direction of the organisation.
We are seeking someone with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the profession, along with dedication to the CDI's rules of governance and Code of Ethics, to support the organisation over the next three years.

Honorary Secretary Elect
The Honorary Secretary and the Honorary Secretary elect are roles which are directly elected by the membership of the CDI. They are a Director of the Company. They are an Officer of the CDI together with the President, President Elect, and Treasurer. They have full voting rights within the Board as well as the voting rights of any member at an AGM. They carry the financial and other responsibilities, required by the Companies Act. As a Director, they are responsible for determining the CDI’s strategic objectives and policies.

Treasurer
The Honorary Treasurer of the CDI is directly elected by the membership of the CDI. They are a Director of the Company and an Elected Board Member. They are also an Officer of the CDI together with the President, President Elect, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Secretary Elect. They have full voting rights within the Board and as an Elected Board Member have voting rights/responsibilities at Annual or Emergency General Meetings, and carry the financial and other responsibilities, required by the Companies Act, of Elected Board Members.

The CDI Board comprises the President, the President Elect, the Honorary Secretary, Honorary Secretary Elect, The Treasurer and three Directors who are nominated and elected by the entire CDI membership and up to four who are appointed by the Board following a selection process.
Board Directors who are nominated and elected by the membership have additional constitutional powers in that they are entitled to vote at CDI AGMs and EGMs along with the President, the President Elect, the Honorary Secretary, other membership elected Directors and the Chair of the Professional Standards Committee.

- Monday 24 February: Notice to members seeking nominations.
- Monday 10 March: Second request for nominations.
- Thursday 27 March, 4 pm: Nominations close.
- Monday 7 April: Ballots and personal statements sent to members if more than one nomination is received. There will also be a confirmatory vote for posts where we have only received one nomination.
- Monday 14 April, 9 am: Electronic voting by the membership closes.
- Monday 21 April: Results announced this week.
