Replacement Certificate Service

As the recognised authority within the careers sector, we maintain an archive of historical qualification records, which we can access to assist individuals seeking a replacement copy of their previous qualifications. This service is available for a fee and may be provided either digitally or as a physical hard copy sent via post. Please note that this service is open to all individuals, regardless of membership status.

Requesting a Replacement Certificate

To request a new certificate, please complete the Replacement Certificate Required Information form. Supplying accurate and comprehensive details enables us to efficiently search our certificate database and verify your qualification records. Kindly provide as much relevant information as possible to facilitate this process.

Upon receipt of the requested information, we will issue you an invoice. The search process will commence once payment has been received. This fee is non-refundable, even if we are unable to find your certificate. Once we have verified your qualification records, you will have three options available to you;

  • Get a digital reissue of your certificate;
  • Get a hard-copy reissue of your certificate on high-quality cardstock;
  • Or, securely store your certificate in our digital archive. 

All reissued certificates will differ from your original, featuring new logos and branding. 

Step One - Searching Our Records

Cost - £10

Includes a full search of our records for your qualification.

This fee is non-refundable, even if we are unable to find your certificate.

In the event that we have a confirmation of your certificate, we will provide an email confirming whether we directly hold a copy of the certificate in our digital archive and can provide a copy, either digital or hard copy; or, that the qualification was from a third-party provider.  

Step Two - Obtaining Your Certificate

If we hold a copy of your certificate, we can provide the following options to reissue the certificate. Alternately, you can opt not to have your certificate reissued in digital or hard-copy formats and choose to store the certificate in our digital archive. 

Please note, we cannot reissue certificates from a third-party provider. 

Digital Copy Certificate - £10

Includes;

  • Digital copy of your certificate as a secure PDF.

Hard Copy Certificate - £20

Includes;

  • Printed hard copy of your certificate on high-quality cardstock.
  • Postage to your address

This is an optional extra and does not include the initial search.

Step Three - Safely Store Your Certificate with the CDI

The CDI hosts a limited digital archive with past and current certificates related to certain specific qualifications. If your certificate belongs to one of these qualifications, we can securely store your certificate in our digital archive attached to your membership record. The qualification has to be one of the following;

  • Qualification in Career Development (QCD)
  • Qualification in Career Guidance (QCG)
  • Qualification in Career Guidance/Development (QCGD)
  • Diploma in Career Guidance (DipCG)

This is an optional extra and does not include the initial search or certificate reissue.

Change of Name

We can only reissue certificates in the original name displayed on the original completed qualification. If your name has changed since completing your qualification, we will need some additional information alongside your request. 

If you need to have your certificate amended as part of the replacement, once you have completed the Replacement Certificate Required Information form, please email [email protected] with scanned colour copies of the following documents, where necessary; 

  • A proof of identity, either;

    •  A valid passport
    • An in-date Driving Licence

  • One of the following name-change documents;

    • Marriage Certificate 
    • Divorce papers
    • Deed Poll official record (enrolled or unenrolled)
    • Valid Court Order documentation
