About Me
I have worked within the role of guidance practioner since 2001 supporting a wide range of young people and I hold my Level 6 qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance. I currently manage the New Directions Careers Service in Blackburn but also ensure I continue to support young people to allow me to retain my skills and knowledge.
Over the years I have worked in mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units, Colleges, Training Providers and in the community. I have supported a wide range of young people including the most vulnerable and the most able.
I continue to keep my skills and knowledge up to date by having close links with provision and attending a variety of CPD days. Each member of our team is linked to a local training provider so we reguarly recieve updates on provision.
As a service we offer a Traded Service to schools whereby they can buy our time to provide a wealth of different activites to support the students with their decison making. The service has been accredited by Matrix and all 11 members of the team are Level 6 qualified in Careers Advice and Guidance.
