About Me

I am Debbie and I am the founder/owner of Northamptonshire Careers. I work in the careers sector as a Registered Career Development Professional, a professional CV writer and a Trainer and Assessor for level 4 & level 6 career-based qualifications. I am an active member of the sector and belong to professional bodies such as the Career Development Institute (CDI) and the Institute of Employability Professionals (IEP). As a professional CV Writer: I write pretty amazing CVs, CVs that bring the WOW! factor and get your foot in the door. I turn your bland CV into an impactful statement that showcases your achievements, knowledge, and skills while keeping it personal to you too! I can also review your CV, giving you some great recommendations as to how to boost it to make it work better for you and get you noticed. As a Trainer & Assessor: I embrace my learners with a metaphorical hug, providing them with all the support they need to achieve their level 4 & level 6 qualifications in Career Education, Information, Advice & Guidance. I challenge conventional thinking to broaden perspectives and highlight alternative and creative approaches, whilst embedding key knowledge, skills, methods and techniques in both written work and practical observations. I advocate for those entering the sector, raising awareness of opportunities across the diverse roles available. I also deliver CV writing CPD to career and employability professionals to help build knowledge and confidence in the approaches and structures of writing CVs, keeping them up-to-date with modern recruitment practices which they can then pass on to their clients. As a Registered Career Development Practitioner: I primarily work with adult clients, providing an independent ear that can help them untangle the messy spaghetti in their heads so that their future focus becomes clearer and more tangible. I gently offer approaches that challenge barriers and internal perceptions, breeding positivity and confidence in making informed decisions that can help clients achieve their goals. As a person: I enjoy colourful sunrises, the night sky, the essence of Hygge, hot chocolate, digestive biscuits, gammon with both pineapple AND egg, paranormal investigations, warm beer at a rock festival, laughing until I collapse, road trips to new places, sherbet lemons and embracing the magic of the coast. I am married with twin daughters and am a slave to my two elderly cats, Flo & Dixie.
